MacTier and the southern Muskoka Lakes.

MacTier is a small village in the Township of Muskoka Lakes at the southwestern edge of cottage country proper. It's at the edge of our service radius but we make the run. The lakes here connect to the broader Lake Rosseau system and the scenery is classic Canadian Shield all the way down.

The drive from Huntsville to MacTier runs about 60 minutes along Hwy 141 west and south toward the Georgian Bay corridor. We keep a full trailer capacity and schedule MacTier runs on Mondays and Wednesdays during the October haul-out window. Getting on that schedule early matters because the southern townships fill their slots before the northern ones do.

Boats in the MacTier area tend to be family runabouts and pontoons built for summer lake use, with some larger cruisers at the higher-end cottages on the Lake Rosseau south arm. If you're storing a boat 26 feet or longer with a deep-vee hull, mention that when you reserve. The transport plan and cribbing setup are different for heavier boats and we want to confirm logistics before pickup day.

Cottagers who use MacTier as a south entry into the Muskoka Lakes system often move their boat up to Port Carling or Windermere for the summer and haul out from wherever it's docked at the end of the season. Spring returns to MacTier are scheduled from late April through the third week of May. We coordinate with you once the ice is out on Lake Rosseau south, which usually happens in the third week of April.
