Boat Storage on Lake of Bays

Lake of Bays is east of Huntsville, 30 to 55 minutes depending on your arm of the lake. We cover both the Baysville west arm and the Dorset east arm.

About This Area

All of Lake of Bays, both arms.

Lake of Bays is one of the larger and deeper lakes in Muskoka, stretching from Baysville on the west to Dorset on the east. It sits east of Huntsville's connected lake system, reachable by Hwy 60 across the height of land.

The west arm around Baysville is our Zone 1 territory, about 30 to 35 minutes from the Huntsville base. It gets the first pickup runs of the October season and the first spring returns in late April. The east arm around Dorset is Zone 2 at 50 to 55 minutes. Both arms get the same service; the pricing difference reflects drive time. If your dock is somewhere between Baysville and Dorset on the main basin, it likely falls into Zone 2 pricing, and we'll confirm when you book.

Lake of Bays has a distinct character compared to the south Muskoka lakes. The water is clear and cold, the shores are more rugged, and the cottages tend to be less developed than the commercial strips on Lake Muskoka. Most boats here are family runabouts, fishing boats, and the occasional pontoon. We see fewer large cruisers than on Lake Rosseau, which simplifies the haul-out logistics considerably.

If your boat is docked at Eagle Lake or Kawagama Lake, which connect to Lake of Bays to the south and east, ask about those locations specifically. Some of those access points require trailerable boats and a ramp-based pickup rather than dock extraction. Both are options we support. See dedicated pages for Baysville and Dorset for arm-specific scheduling details.

Spring returns to Lake of Bays run from late April (west arm) through mid-May (east arm). Ice-out timing varies by several days between the two ends of the lake each year.
