Bala sits where Moon River meets the south bay of Lake Muskoka, a stretch of water that draws a mix of year-round residents and seasonal cottagers. The town itself is small, but the surrounding cottage community on the south shore of Lake Muskoka is dense, with lots of family boats used hard through July and August.

Drive time from Bala to our facility runs 50 to 60 minutes, following Hwy 169 north through Bala and connecting to 11. We pick up from private docks on Moon River and from the Lake Muskoka south shore, from the public launch at Bala Falls Road if the boat is trailered and ready to go, or from a driveway if the trailer is at the cottage.

Boats in the Bala area skew toward pontoons and mid-size runabouts that get used for family lake days. The south bay of Lake Muskoka is shallower than the main body, which suits the pontoon crowd. We've also hauled some larger bowriders and deck boats from the Bala area that spend their summers on the exposed water heading north toward Gravenhurst Bay.
